PORTACAL® Propane (C₃H₈) Calibration Gas is designed for the calibration, bump testing, and verification of compatible propane gas detectors, combustible gas sensors, LEL detectors, and monitoring instruments.
Propane (C₃H₈) is a colorless, highly flammable hydrocarbon gas widely used as a fuel in commercial, industrial, agricultural, and residential applications. Propane is commonly encountered in heating systems, fuel storage and distribution, manufacturing facilities, agricultural operations, material handling equipment, and other environments where combustible gas monitoring may be required.
PORTACAL® Propane Calibration Gas provides a known concentration of propane to help verify that compatible propane sensors, combustible gas detectors, LEL detectors, portable gas monitors, and fixed gas detection systems are functioning and responding properly.
Calibration Gas
-
Gas: Propane (C₃H₈)
-
Gas Type: Non-Reactive Gas Only
-
Application: Propane sensor, combustible gas, and LEL detector calibration and bump testing
-
Compatible Equipment: Appropriate propane, combustible gas, and LEL detection and monitoring instruments
Common Applications
This propane calibration gas is suitable for compatible equipment used in propane detector calibration, combustible gas detector calibration, LEL detector calibration, gas detector bump testing, propane storage and distribution, heating systems, manufacturing facilities, agricultural operations, industrial hygiene, environmental monitoring, confined space monitoring, and workplace safety applications.
Always verify the required gas concentration, cylinder connection, flow rate, and regulator compatibility for your specific gas detection instrument before use.
Cylinder Material Notice
Steel cylinders are for non-reactive calibration gases only. Aluminum cylinders are for reactive calibration gases only, regardless of cylinder size. Please verify the gas type and cylinder material when selecting your calibration gas.
Tip: Check the Specifications tab for a visual chart of available cylinder sizes, materials, pressures, dimensions, valve inlets, and regulator compatibility.
