PORTACAL® Methylene Chloride (CH₂Cl₂) Calibration Gas is designed for the calibration, bump testing, and verification of compatible methylene chloride gas detectors, vapor sensors, VOC detectors, and monitoring instruments.

Methylene chloride (CH₂Cl₂), also known as dichloromethane (DCM), is a volatile, colorless liquid that produces vapors with a characteristic chloroform-like odor. It is used across a variety of industrial and manufacturing processes, including paint and coating removal, pharmaceutical manufacturing, metal cleaning and degreasing, chemical processing, and solvent applications.

PORTACAL® Methylene Chloride Calibration Gas provides a known concentration of methylene chloride vapor to help verify that compatible CH₂Cl₂ sensors, VOC detectors, portable gas monitors, and fixed gas detection systems are functioning and responding properly.

Calibration Gas

  • Gas: Methylene Chloride (CH₂Cl₂)

  • Also Known As: Dichloromethane (DCM)

  • Gas Type: Non-Reactive Gas Only

  • Application: Methylene chloride sensor and gas detector calibration and bump testing

  • Compatible Equipment: Appropriate methylene chloride, dichloromethane, and VOC detection and monitoring instruments

Common Applications

This methylene chloride calibration gas is suitable for compatible equipment used in methylene chloride detector calibration, dichloromethane detector calibration, VOC monitoring, gas detector bump testing, pharmaceutical manufacturing, chemical processing, paint and coating removal operations, metal cleaning and degreasing, solvent monitoring, industrial hygiene, occupational exposure monitoring, environmental monitoring, and workplace safety applications.

Always verify the required gas concentration, cylinder connection, flow rate, and regulator compatibility for your specific gas detection instrument before use.

Cylinder Material Notice

Steel cylinders are for non-reactive calibration gases only. Aluminum cylinders are for reactive calibration gases only, regardless of cylinder size. Please verify the gas type and cylinder material when selecting your calibration gas.

Tip: Check the Specifications tab for a visual chart of available cylinder sizes, materials, pressures, dimensions, valve inlets, and regulator compatibility.
