If you've never used a gas detector tube, the concept is surprisingly simple.
A gas detector tube is a sealed glass tube containing a chemical reagent designed to react with a specific gas or vapor.
When a measured amount of air is pulled through the tube using a sampling pump, the reagent changes color. The length or intensity of that color change allows the user to determine the concentration of the target gas.
No complicated setup.
No laboratory required.
Results directly at the sampling location.
GASTEC gas detector tubes are available for hundreds of gases and vapors, making detector tube systems useful across industrial hygiene, workplace safety, environmental monitoring, manufacturing, laboratories, confined spaces, emergency response, and more.
At Instrument Depot, we help customers identify the correct detector tube and sampling equipment for their specific application.
