Gastec Hydrogen Chloride (HCl) Detector Tubes are associated with Part Numbers: 14L • 14M • 14R
Hydrogen chloride may be used or encountered across a variety of industrial processes, but how do you determine how much HCl is actually present in the air? That’s where Gastec Hydrogen Chloride Gas Detector Tubes come in.
Designed for on-site gas detection, industrial hygiene, workplace air monitoring, occupational safety, and environmental testing, Gastec detector tubes provide a straightforward visual method for measuring hydrogen chloride concentrations.
Using a compatible GASTEC gas sampling pump, a measured air sample is drawn through the tube. The reagent inside reacts with hydrogen chloride, creating a visible color change that can be read directly from the tube.
Why Are There Three HCl Gas Detector Tubes?
14L, 14M, and 14R are all designed for hydrogen chloride measurement, but they're intended for different measurement needs and concentration ranges. That matters.
Choosing a gas detector tube isn't just about identifying the gas you're testing for, the expected concentration and application can determine which tube is appropriate.
Hydrogen chloride monitoring may be relevant in applications involving:
- Chemical Processing & Manufacturing
- Laboratories & Research
- Metal Processing & Surface Treatment
- Industrial Hygiene & Workplace Air Monitoring
- Environmental Testing
- Occupational Health & Safety
HCl Gas Detector Tube Tip
Before ordering a detector tube, ask yourself: “What concentration am I expecting to measure?”
That one piece of information can make the difference between selecting 14L, 14M, or 14R for an HCl application.
