radon measurements for real estate transactions or confirmation of radon
measurements before and after corrective action.

| How
it works: A special filter in the chamber wall permits free movement of radon gas but prohibits radon decay products to enter. Using principles of gas diffusion, the concentration of the chamber will equal the concentration of radon gas in the air around the monitor. As the radon gas decays inside the chamber, alpha radiation is released. When alpha radiation and the silicon chip inside the chamber connect, an electric pulse is generated. The radon concentration is computed by the microprocessor and by the number of pulses that occur over time. |
