Instrument Depot has its roots in two older companies that were pioneers in applications for environmental instruments – Eirtech Instruments and Response Rentals.  Eirtech was founded in 1975 as an applications engineering firm, with expertise in fixed systems for environmental monitoring.  Response Rentals followed in 1988 when increasing environmental concerns in business and industry led to a need for the availability of a wide variety of instruments on a project or job basis.

Principal employees from Eirtech Instruments and Response Rentals are still active in the day-to-day operations of Instrument Depot.
